AL will reply with a legal notice: Quader
Awami League will reply to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s legal notice in equal terms, the ruling party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader said today.
“Just wait, they (BNP) will be served a legal notice for sending fake and false legal notice against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” Quader said, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
Quader came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after a programme in Dhaka, in regard to Khaleda’s legal notice to the premier over an alleged stash of money abroad.
He said the prime minister disclosed the corruptions of Zia family on basis of the reports published in local and international media.
On January 10, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in parliament mentioned names of some politicians and businessmen, including Khaleda Zia's two sons, who she said were involved in money laundering.
About the alleged corruption and money laundering by the two brothers -- Tarique Rahman and late Arafat Rahman Koko-- she said they “laundered $750 million to Belgium and $250 million to Malaysia”.
