STAR Day At A Glance | Friday, April 20, 2018

Rain or shine, there seems to be water everywhere in the port city Chittagong -- be it infront of hospitals, on roads, or underneath flyovers. Due to an ongoing "development work" and a lack of proper drainage system, many of the areas remain waterlogged. In addition, dilapidated conditions of many roads continue to add to the residents' miseries. (Clockwise from bottom left) A man drains out water from the main gate of Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Thursday, April 19, 2018. People walk on a partially damaged footpath with sandbags placed on its side to protect from water spilling over from the submerged road in Barai Para area under Chandgaon Police Station. A man struggles to move his rickshaw-van on the road. Vehicles cross a waterlogged portion of a rundown road underneath the Bahaddarhat flyover. A large water-filled pothole in another section of the same road. Residents tread carefully through an inundated road in Bahaddarhat area. Photos: Rajib Raihan
