The opposition Jatiya Party (JP) today announced to back Bahauddin Ahmed Babul and Hazi Saifuddin Ahmed Milon as mayoral candidates for the long-pending polls to Dhaka city corporations.

Babul, JP general secretary of Dhaka city (North) unit, and Milon, a presidium member, will run for mayor in bifurcated Dhaka City Corporation (North) and Dhaka City Corporation (South) elections respectively.

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad declared the names after a meeting at the JP chief's Banani office in Dhaka around 12:30pm.
