Drug trader with 5kg heroin held in Dhaka

An alleged drug trader has been held with five kilogrammes of henoin from Dhaka’s Gabtoli area.

A team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Nizam, 35, with the heroin worth around Tk 2 crore from Gabtoli Bus Terminal last night, reports our staff correspondent.

On information , a CTTC team conducted a drive in front of the bus counter of Hanif Enterprise at 9:20pm yesterday and arrested Nizam along with the heroin, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.

During primary interrogation, Nizam revealed that he had been bringing heroin to Dhaka from Chapainawabganj district border, DC Masudur also said.

Besides, Nizam had involvement with illegal arms trading, the police official added.
