Municipality elections: 4 hurt in crude bomb explosion in Feni
Four people including an Ansar member were injured in a crude bomb explosion in front of a polling centre during municipality election to Feni's Dagonbhuiya this morning.
The explosion took place in front of Ganipur Government Primary School centre around 10:00am, reports a correspondent.
On information, police, Rapid Action Battalion and Border Guard Bangladesh rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The injured -- Ansar member Md Arif Hossain, former BCL president of Sindorpur union Anwar Hossain Sujon, Omor Faruque and Md Tarique -- were given primary treatment.
Contacted, Presiding Officer of the centre Md Golam Kibria said despite some stray incident, voting was going on peacefully.
Counsellor candidate Kamrul Islam said supporters of ruling party candidate Salauddin Rubel exploded several crude bombs last night in the area that left a person named Main Uddin injured.
Contacted, Partha Pratim Deb, inspector (investigation) of Dagonbhuiyan Police Station, said some people were injured as crude bombs were exploded at several places under the municipality since morning.
