With a view to lead responsible business activities, as well as to continue to support various activities, including eco-friendly initiatives throughout the local communities of Chattogram, Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View has taken a one-of-a-kind initiative.

From 18 January, 2020, the hotel has replaced all the plastic water bottles in all guest rooms, restaurants and meeting rooms, as well as banquet halls, with re-useable glass bottles. This is the first initiative of its kind in any hotel in Bangladesh.

Back in 2018, the hotel had already removed plastic straws and drink stirrers from its entire food and beverage operation. These were replaced with locally made bamboo alternatives since June 2018.

General Manager, Robin Edwards, gave a short statement regarding these initiatives, saying, "In addition to the Radisson Hotel Group company-wide initiatives, we believe that the travel and hospitality industry and their respective business partners together can be a great force for good.  We all need to participate in significant collaborative initiatives to help build a better planet for future generations, ensuring their sustainability. The hospitality and tourism sector in Bangladesh is growing at an enormous pace, and if all hotels can contribute to environmental change, it is a great achievement for the Bangladesh hospitality industry, placing it at the forefront in the Asia Pacific region."

 Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View promotes local efforts to make changes for the betterment of the community through initiatives such as the annual earth hour, charity concerts, distribution of food and school supplies to needy communities, distribution of computers to village schools, the support of SOS children villages, Soap for Hope distribution of recycled and repressed soap to local orphanages and poor communities, distributing raincoats to over 800 rickshaw pullers, provision of 400 blankets to the colder regions of the country, and a "walk for change" to support children's education and many other responsible business activities.
