GET YOUR FITTINGS DONE

Decide on what you want to wear at each event. Talk it over with the bride to have coordinating outfits, and then have a talk with the father of the bride for outfit confirmations.

It is true that the groom does not need to spend as much time or effort on the attire as much as the bride, but do not be completely careless about it either. Remember a badly fitted suit or sherwani ruins the look.

MAKE APPOINTMENTS

Long gone are the days when only the bride had to worry about looks. Appointments to the salon are a must at least a week before the wedding day. Getting a haircut, shaving or grooming your beard are a must. Messy is not hot, especially not at your own wedding.

A SIGNATURE DRINK

Meet up with caterers to create a perfect mocktail just for your events. It could be just about anything and everything as long as the two of you enjoy it. Once you decide on one combination, serve it as a welcome-drink for all your guests.

A NOD TO YOUR JOURNEY 

Prepare a backdrop of numerous photos of the bride and the groom and title it as 'our journey here' so everyone can get a glimpse of the couple's days prior to the wedding. This collage could also serve as the backdrop to a photobooth. You will have to sit with your photographer as well as the wedding planner for this.

GROOMSMEN APPRECIATIONS

The bride is not the only person that needs to be handing out gifts for her ladies, you should show some appreciation to your buddies as well, especially those who have been there for you since day one; small things like cufflinks or colognes or a mighty treat.

SOMETHING FOR THE MOTHER-IN-LAW

Befriending your mother-in-law with a personalised gift would be an ace performance. It is important to have this matriarch on your side from day one.

THE HONEYMOON DIARIES

Do the honeymoon planning. Start at least two months ahead if you plan on going right after the wedding. Legal arrangements take time as well, such as getting your visa and booking flights and hotels abroad as well as setting up foreign currency cards. These things take up a lot of time sometimes, so plan ahead to avoid trouble.

A FINAL CHECK
