Bangladesh Railway opening advance Eid ticket sales from March 3

Bangladesh Railway will begin selling advance train tickets from March 3 to ensure hassle-free journey ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The railway issued a press release in this regard today.

According to the release, sales of advance train tickets for the Eid journey will start on March 3 and continue until March 9.

Tickets for March 13 will be sold on March 3, while tickets for March 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 will be sold on March 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, respectively. Tickets for March 20, 21 and 22 will be sold depending on the sighting of the moon.

All tickets will be sold online like previous occasions. Sale of tickets for trains of the western zone will start at 8:00 am, and for eastern zone at 2:00 pm.

A passenger can buy a maximum of four tickets at a time, both advance and return. However, advance and return tickets for Eid cannot be refunded, added the release.

This year, Railway will also operate five pairs of special trains in addition to regular intercity trains. The special trains will run on the Chattogram-Chandpur, Dhaka-Dewanganj, Bhairab Bazar-Kishoreganj, Mymensingh-Kishoreganj, and Joydebpur-Parbotipur routes.

The authority will start selling return tickets from March 13 and will continue until March 19.

Return tickets for March 23 will be sold on March 13, while tickets for March 24 will be sold on March 14. Likewise, tickets for March 25 will be available on March 15, tickets for March 26 on March 16, tickets for March 27 on March 17, tickets for March 28 on March 18, and tickets for March 29 on March 19.

All goods carrying trains, except container and fuel trains, will be closed from 12:01 am on March 19 to 6:00pm on Eid day.
