3 ‘JMB’ men held in Assam
Three suspected activists of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) have been arrested in Barpeta district of Assam, police said.
District Superintendent of Police Robin Kumar told reporters in Barpeta town that they had been keeping a watch on JMB activities in view of the upcoming Independence Day, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
"We received an input Monday night about the presence of three JMB activists in Bhabanipur area. We were successful in arresting one of them named Hafizur Rahman," Kumar said.
The police seized a locally-made revolver and four bullets from him, the officer said.
