Continuous rainfall from noon to 3:00pm yesterday led to temporary waterlogging in several low-lying areas of Chattogram, disrupting movement and daily activities across parts of the port city.
Intermittent showers -- including heavy to very heavy spells -- led to water accumulation in areas such as Katalganj, WASA intersection, GEC circle, Chawkbazar, EPZ, Halishahar, and around Agrabad Commerce College
The low-pressure system over the North Bay and nearby areas moved west-northwest and gradually intensified -- first into a well-marked low, then into a depression
One or two places in Rajshahi and Khulna divisions may also experience rainfall
Rainfall since early morning flooded parts of Dhaka city including low-lying roads in Mirpur, Moghbazar, and Shantinagar
Most parts of Jashore town and its adjacent areas have been waterlogged after relentless rainfall over two consecutive days
Over 2,300 ponds flooded, 2,371 hectares of crops destroyed, and 125km of roads affected
However, parts of Fulgazi and Chhagalnaiya were still waterlogged as of this morning
