Sir David Attenborough now ‘Champion of the Earth 2022’

United Nation's Environment Programme has named Sir David Attenborough this year's Champion of the Earth.

The 95-year-old was conferred the prestigious award in recognition of his commitment to telling stories about the natural world and climate change, reports BBC.

While accepting the award, Sir David said that the world must take action to protect nature and the planet now.

UN chose to recognise Sir David because of his devotion to broadcasting the natural world, reports BBC quoting UNEP Executive Director Inger Anderson as saying.
