Vicky Zahed brings flash fiction ‘Ondho Balok’ to Chorki

Vicky Zahed returns with a new mystery as his flash fiction "Ondho Balok" readies for release on Chorki at 12:01 am on September 18. Written by Nazim Ud Daula, the story blends love, fate, and the tension between belief and doubt, promising a fresh take on the director's signature suspense.
Filmed across various Dhaka locations, "Ondho Balok" stars Tawsif Mahbub as Orko and Sadia Ayman as Dina—two lovers whose relationship begins to fracture when an enigmatic blind boy enters their lives. Sadia plays a daughter torn between deep affection for Orko and loyalty to her father, portrayed by veteran actor Tariq Anam Khan, with Shilpi Sarkar Apu in a pivotal role.

Director Zahed describes the narrative as both romantic and unsettling, noting that his own career began with short films and that he remains drawn to Chorki's flash fiction format. "I believe viewers will discover a different flavour in this story," he said.
Sadia Ayman, who worked with Zahed for the first time on this project, shared that she has yet to see the finished film but praised the experience: "The character of Dina is full of love and complexity. I think audiences will connect with her journey."

The screenplay and dialogue for "Ondho Balok" were co-written by Nazim Ud Daula and Vicky Zahed, with cinematography by Bidrohi Dipon. Jointly produced by OTT platform Chorki and Alpha-I, this marks Chorki's second flash fiction title.
