Veteran duo Abul Hayat and Dolly Zahur reunite in ‘Life Is Beautiful’

Two of Bangladesh’s most respected veteran actors, Abul Hayat and Dolly Zahur, have come together for a new television drama titled “Life Is Beautiful”. Written by Shafikur Rahman Shantanu and directed by Chayanika Chowdhury, the drama has been produced by Jamal Hossain.

The production premiered on Monday (February 16) at 2:00pm on Rangan Entertainment’s official YouTube channel. Alongside the veteran duo, the cast also includes Tasnuva Tisha, Prantar Dastidar and Sohag in supporting roles.

Director Chayanika Chowdhury said viewers will find a strong essence of the 1990s woven into the narrative.

“For the past 24 years, I have been telling stories about relationships, love, and the many tensions of life. This drama also centres on a beautiful family story. The characters required actors like Abul Hayat and Dolly Zahur, and that is why I chose them,” she said.

Producer Jamal Hossain added that he prioritises family-oriented storytelling in his productions. “We did not compromise on any aspect of this project. Each role has been cast according to the needs of the character,” he said.

Praising the director, Abul Hayat described Chayanika as thoughtful and perceptive. “Story is always the heart of her work. The actors get the freedom to perform with sincerity and individuality. This drama is no different. It was also wonderful to work with Dolly again after a long time,” he said.

“Life Is Beautiful” brings together nostalgia, family dynamics and emotional storytelling, promising audiences a heartfelt return to the warmth and simplicity associated with the 1990s.
