The much-anticipated film "Jole Jwole Tara", starring Rafiath Rashid Mithila and FS Nayeem, premieres in theatres across the country today.

In this government-funded Arun Chowdhury directorial, Mithila portrays a circus performer. The movie, which releases today across six theatres, explores the multifaceted life of a woman in a world that's as transient as it is unforgiving.

Mithila spoke about "Jole Jwole Tara" with The Daily Star and said, "The film has a beautiful story. The audience will see me in the role of Tara and although it is a story of life's struggles, there is also a sweet romantic plot at the heart of it. I don't want to reveal much more about so that audiences can discover more after catching it in the theatre."

Speaking of co-star, she said, "Naeem has been my friend since college. We have worked together in dramas, but this is our first time paired together in a film. I hope everyone will appreciate the movie."

The film, which received its government grant in the 2020-21 fiscal year, faced multiple delays before its release. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, shooting wrapped up within three weeks in Manikganj, yet the release date shifted several times. Regarding this, Mithila previously acknowledged that while a delayed release can sometimes diminish a film's appeal, the love story between Tara and Hossain is likely to rekindle audience interest.

For Nayeem, "Jole Jwole Tara" marks his return to cinema after more than a decade, following his last appearance in "Jaago". He spoke with The Daily Star and expressed excitement about his lead role, saying, "Portraying the fisherman Hossain has been an entirely new experience for me, and the storyline is truly exceptional. Overall, this film will leave a mark on the audience making them think."

"Jole Jwole Tara" also features performances from acclaimed actors like Fazlur Rahman Babu, Monira Mithu, Azad Abul Kalam, and Nur Imran Mithu, adding further depth to the ensemble cast.

Film Moyna

At the same time, Raj Ripa is stepping into the limelight with her debut film "Moyna". A love story at its heart, the film's central character Moyna pairs Ripa with four co-stars: Amaan Reza, Kayes Arju, Affan Mitul, and Arefin Zilani. The film, directed by Manjurul Islam, is premiering across 16 theatres.

Raj Ripa, naturally excited about her big-screen debut, shared her enthusiasm with local media, "Finally, my long-held dream is coming true. Today is a special day for me, and I hope 'Moyna' becomes a special gift for audiences as well. I urge everyone to go to the theatres and experience my first film."

Having come to Dhaka from Mongla with aspirations of becoming an actress, Ripa initially made her mark with a small role in Jaaz Multimedia's "Dohon". That brief appearance caught the attention of directors, eventually leading to her lead role in "Mukti". Though the film is yet to be released, "Moyna" is now introducing Ripa to audiences as a lead actress.

The film also boasts a cast that includes Momena Chowdhury, Nader Chowdhury, Subrata, Suchana, Khalilur Rahman Kadri, and Tahmina Mona. Additionally, Shishir Sardar, Angela Jolly, Apon, and child actor Jannatul Bhore make special appearances, rounding out the ensemble.

Today, both "Jole Jwole Tara" and "Moyna" mark a refreshing moment for Bangladeshi cinema, spotlighting women's stories through compelling narratives and performances.
