Two action-adventure films premiere at Star Cineplex today

The latest instalment in the "Captain America" franchise, "Captain America: Brave New World", was released internationally on February 14. Even before its release, the film was already generating immense buzz, and after hitting theatres, it has been dominating the box office. Now, Bangladeshi fans can also experience the excitement, as the film is set to premiere at Star Cineplex starting today.
"Captain America: Brave New World" is hitting the local big screen as the first superhero film of 2025. This marks the 35th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Following Steve Rogers' retirement, Sam Wilson officially takes on the mantle of Captain America in this film. It explores how Sam navigates global political tensions, balancing internal US politics and the rising conflict surrounding the Tiamut island.
This film also introduces Red Hulk in the MCU. Previously, the alter ego of Red Hulk, Thunderbolt Ross, was portrayed by William Hurt. Following the actor's passing, the role has been taken over by legendary "Indiana Jones" actor Harrison Ford. Directed by Julius Onah, the story picks up from where "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" series left off, where Sam Wilson officially accepted Captain America's shield from Steve Rogers.
Given the success of the Disney+ series, expectations are high that the film will receive strong support from fans. Discussions surrounding the movie are already widespread, particularly regarding Anthony Mackie's performance as the new Captain America and Harrison Ford's portrayal of Red Hulk, which has sparked considerable curiosity.
On the other hand, the "My Hero Academia" franchise has already seen three successful film adaptations in Japan, winning over audiences both domestically and internationally.
Now, another thrilling addition has arrived—"My Hero Academia: You're Next"—the fourth feature film in the anime series. Based on the hit manga series created by Kōhei Horikoshi, this Tensai Okamura directorial promises a gripping adventure for anime fans.
The film revolves around a group of aspiring heroes dispatched to a remote island for training and community service, where they assist locals with their daily struggles. However, their mission takes a dangerous turn when a formidable villain, Nine, and his team launch an attack, seeking to steal a unique Quirk that would grant them immense power.
At the core of this intense battle are Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and Katsuki Bakugo, whose dynamic of teamwork and rivalry propels the narrative. Their evolving relationship stands as one of the film's most emotionally compelling elements.
