Martin Scorsese is gearing up for a high-profile crime drama unfolding in Hawaii, with Hollywood buzzing over his latest project. The film is set to feature Dwayne Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Emily Blunt in leading roles. Scorsese is attached as the director, working from a screenplay penned by journalist and author Nick Bilton.

This yet-to-be-titled film, inspired by real events, is said to be in the mold of Scorsese's "Goodfellas" and "The Departed", focusing on a mob boss fighting for dominance over the Hawaiian islands during the 1960s and 1970s.

Scorsese joins forces with Johnson, Blunt, DiCaprio, Bilton, Dany Garcia, Lisa Frechette, and Rick Yorn as producers on the project.

Bilton's previous work includes the HBO series "The Idol" and Netflix's "Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal".

Last month, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio was in discussions to lead a Martin Scorsese-directed adaptation of Erik Larson's best-selling book "The Devil in the White City".

DiCaprio and Scorsese have a history of acclaimed collaborations, having worked together on films such as "Killers of the Flower Moon", "The Wolf of Wall Street", "Shutter Island", "The Departed", "The Aviator", and "Gangs of New York", among others.

Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are teaming up once again for A24's upcoming biographical drama "The Smashing Machine", directed by Benny Safdie.

Johnson takes on the role of real-life wrestler Mark Kerr in the film. The duo previously co-starred in Disney's 2021 adventure film "Jungle Cruise".

DiCaprio is also set to appear in Paul Thomas Anderson's upcoming untitled feature, which Warner Bros is planning to release later this year.

The news of Scorsese's latest project was first reported by Deadline.
