‘Neelchokro’ earns spot at Golden State Film Festival

The Bangladeshi film "Neelchokro" ( Blue Circle) has been officially selected for the Foreign Language category at the 8th Golden State Film Festival 2025. The festival will take place in Los Angeles, USA, from February 14 to February 21.The event will take place at Chinese Theatre-6 in Los Angeles.
Directed by Mithu Khan, the film will have it's world premiere at the Golden State Film Festival.
Mithu Khan told The Daily Star that the English-dubbed version of "Neelchokro" has been completed, especially for its international release.
Festival authorities have confirmed the selection on their official website. The Golden State Film Festival serves as a platform for emerging and independent filmmakers from around the world, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their talent and gain industry recognition.
Previously, "Neelchokro" had a special premiere at the American Film Market in Las Vegas for buyers. The premiere was attended by the film's producers, Enayet Akbar Milon and Asif Akbar, alongside JJ Rogers, who is managing its international distribution.
The film stars Arifin Shuvoo in the lead role, supported by a talented ensemble cast, including Mondera Chakroborty, Priyontee Urbee, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahed Ali, and others. Notably, Neelchokro also marks the big-screen debut of noted musician Balam.
