Miss World Bangladesh winner Rafah Nanjeba Torsa signs four new films
Model-turned-actress Rafah Nanjeba Torsa has begun the new year by announcing her involvement in four upcoming films, marking a busy phase in her acting career.
Torsa is currently occupied with the shooting of "Mati", a rural-based feature film directed by Syed Shamsher Tarif, who has also written the story and screenplay. In the film, she stars opposite newcomer Alvi Mamun. According to Torsa, most of the filming for "Mati" has already been completed.
She has also recently wrapped up work on two projects directed by Ali Zulfikar Zahedi—the short film "Roktochaya" and the full-length feature "Nirjon Sakkhor". Both films explore themes of gender-based discrimination in society and feature Khairul Basar opposite Torsa. While production on the projects was completed some time ago, they are currently awaiting release. Torsa said the short film "Roktochaya" was made with international film festivals, including Cannes, in mind.
In addition, the actress has completed work on another feature film, details of which remain under wraps at the request of the filmmakers. Torsa said an official announcement will be made by the production house soon.
Speaking about the four films, Torsa said, "These are four completely different stories. Audiences will get to see me in new ways. I have tried to present myself differently in each role, and viewers will be able to judge the outcome once the films are released."
She added that when choosing projects, the team behind a production plays a crucial role in her decision-making process. "I always prioritise the production and directorial teams, along with the strength of the story," she said. "Cinema will always remain my top priority, followed by OTT platforms and television drama. With the right story and character, I want to explore all mediums."
Meanwhile, Torsa has been receiving positive feedback for her performance in the web content "Plan B", which is based on an original story and has drawn considerable attention since its release. Her podcast show "She" also generated discussion during its first season, and she confirmed that the second season will begin soon, with a focus on spreading positive messages.
Rafah Nanjeba Torsa was crowned Miss World Bangladesh in October 2019. She made her acting debut with the television film "Shopno Tomar Jonno" and has since been selective about her projects.
