Miley Cyrus is set to revisit one of her most iconic roles as she returns as Hannah Montana for a 20th anniversary special episode. The celebratory event will premiere on March 24 on Disney+, the platform confirmed.

Titled “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special”, the episode will be filmed before a live studio audience and will feature an extended, in-depth interview with Cyrus. The conversation will be hosted by podcast personality Alex Cooper.

According to an official release, the special will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the beloved Disney Channel series and explore the cultural impact of the character that helped define a generation. Cyrus will reflect on the music, milestones and personal memories tied to the show’s success.

Fans can also expect exclusive archival footage and the recreation of memorable sets, including the Stewart family living room and the signature Hannah Montana wardrobe closet.

In a statement, Cyrus said the character remains an important part of her identity. She described the anniversary event — dubbed a “Hannahversary” — as a tribute to the fans who have supported her for two decades.

Originally premiering in March 2006, “Hannah Montana” became a global phenomenon, drawing more than five million viewers per episode at its peak. The franchise expanded into multiple studio albums, a record-breaking Billboard 200 presence, the Best of Both Worlds Tour, a concert film and a theatrical feature.

The anniversary special is produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions, with Ashley Edens serving as showrunner. Cyrus, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Alex Cooper and Matt Kaplan are attached as executive producers.
