Jaya Ahsan has been enjoying a steady run of releases throughout 2025, with her films screening regularly in theatres on both sides of Bengal. She has earned critical acclaim for her performances in "Taandob", "Utshob", "Putulnacher Itikotha", "Fereshte", "Jaya Aar Sharmin", and "Dear Maa".

On the first day of the new year, the actress announced the release date of her upcoming film "OCD." The film is set to hit theatres in Kolkata on February 6.

Directed by Soukarya Ghosal, "OCD" is described as a psychological drama rooted in the impact of childhood trauma. The film explores how a single bitter experience can irreversibly shape a child's future, with its emotional burden often carried for a lifetime.

In the film, Jaya Ahsan plays a doctor named Shweta, a woman haunted by the dark shadows of her past. When one of her patients unexpectedly uncovers details of her history, Shweta kills him. From that point onward, she turns against everyone around her who challenges or opposes her.

The shooting of "OCD" began in 2021, and the film had its world premiere at the Kolkata International Film Festival the following year. It has since been screened at several international film festivals and is now gearing up for its theatrical release.

Sharing the film's poster and release date on social media yesterday, Jaya wrote in the caption, "Wash away all the meanness and gloom hidden in the corners of the mind."

Speaking about the film, director Soukarya Ghosal said, "This film can be described as my language of protest. I have seen countless children fall victim to various incidents that are beyond words. Many remain silent out of fear or because they lack family support, allowing the accused to go unpunished. These memories stay with children for a lifetime, and there is no true remedy for them."

"OCD" marks Jaya Ahsan's second collaboration with Soukarya Ghosal. She previously worked with the director in "Bhootpori", which, after being screened at several festivals, was released in theatres last year.
