‘I think I need a break’: Lanthimos reflects after ‘Bugonia’
After releasing "Bugonia", his latest film starring Emma Stone, filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos says he's finally ready for a break.
The five-time Oscar-nominated director has been making films almost nonstop in recent years, with "Poor Things" (2023), "Kinds of Kindness" (2024), and now "Bugonia" (2025).
In an interview with Collider, Lanthimos admitted he's been working too much. "I can't keep doing that anymore," he shared. "I think I need a break. I've said it before, but I'm serious this time. You can hold me to it."
"Bugonia" is set for a wide release on October 31.
