Parambrata-Raima reunite in ‘Abar Hawa Bodol’
After more than a decade, Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Raima Sen are set to reunite on the big screen in “Abar Hawa Bodol”, the sequel to the popular 2013 Bengali film “Hawa Bodol”.
Directed by Parambrata himself, the upcoming film marks a return to one of contemporary Bengali cinema’s most recognisable on-screen pairings. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on June 12.

The original “Hawa Bodol”, released in 2013, featured Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Raima Sen and Rudranil Ghosh in a comedy centred on two friends whose lives are unexpectedly transformed after a supernatural twist. The film went on to become one of the notable Bengali commercial successes of its time.
Speaking about the reunion, Raima Sen said she was excited to work with Parambrata again after several years.

“The last time Parambrata and I appeared together was in ‘Dwitiyo Purush’. Working together again after so many years has been a special experience. I know audiences have been waiting to see this pairing on screen again,” she said.
Parambrata, meanwhile, noted that both he and his filmmaking approach have evolved significantly over the past decade. He believes the new film reflects that growth while revisiting familiar themes and characters.

Although filming wrapped nearly two-and-a-half years ago, “Abar Hawa Bodol” is finally reaching audiences after a lengthy wait. Alongside Parambrata and Raima, the cast also includes Rudranil Ghosh, Anusha Viswanathan and Paayel Sarkar.
The sequel follows two old friends whose lives once again become entangled through an unusual turn of events, blending comedy, fantasy and drama.
For Bengali cinema fans, the film’s release carries an added layer of nostalgia, reviving a beloved franchise while bringing back a screen partnership that audiences have long associated with “Hawa Bodol” and, later, “Dwitiyo Purush”.
