Eid special ‘Ityadi’ to feature foreign nationals
For more than three decades, renowned presenter and director Hanif Sanket has used foreign nationals in the popular programme “Ityadi” to highlight folk culture, rural sports and history, while also addressing superstition and social inconsistencies.
This Eid, the special episode of “Ityadi” will once again feature foreign citizens in a dedicated segment. In the episode, they portray ordinary villagers and perform in Bengali, delivering an educational message through acting, song and dance.
According to a press release from production house Fagun Audio Vision, this year’s theme centres on the erosion of humanity caused by selfishness and greed. Opportunistic and double-faced characters are presented in a satirical manner. The episode also includes a theme-based song performed by Rajib and Tanzina Ruma, with music direction by Mehedi and choreography by Mamun.
Nearly fifty foreign nationals took part in the segment, including officials and employees from embassies and international organisations representing Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, France, Poland, Indonesia, Spain, Romania and the United States.
Hanif Sanket expressed satisfaction at working with the participants, noting that although they are not professional performers, many seasoned artists could learn from their dedication. He praised their discipline and commitment, especially the effort they put into mastering even a few Bengali words for their roles.
The Eid special of “Ityadi” will air on Bangladesh Television after the 8:00pm Bangla news on the day following Eid. The programme is written, directed and hosted by Hanif Sanket and produced by Fagun Audio Vision.
