‘Borbaad’ gets censor certificate

After much speculation, the upcoming Eid release "Borbaad", starring superstar Shakib Khan, has received its clearance from the Bangladesh Film Certification Board.
On Monday (March 24), the film was submitted to the board for approval. Following the board's observations, "Borbaad" was resubmitted for clearance today.
Members of the Certification Board reviewed the revised version of the film from 12pm onwards, after which it was approved. Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, a member of the board, confirmed the news to The Daily Star. "We have watched 'Borbaad' and approved it for release," she said. She also added, "All of the board members appreciated the film and this Eid it will very likely do well commercially."
"Borbaad", directed by Mehedi Hassan Hridoy and produced by Shahreen Akter, features Misha Sawdagor, Jisshu, and Idhika Paul, among others in significant roles.
Yesterday, fans of superstar Shakib Khan, known as Shakibians, formed a human chain in front of the Bangladesh Film Certification Board, demanding the uncut release of Borbaad. The protest followed objections over the film's "excessively violent" scenes.
