Afran Nisho’s ‘Daagi’ teaser drops, hinting at a gripping transformation
After much anticipation, the teaser for Afran Nisho's upcoming film "Daagi" has finally dropped, and fans are buzzing with excitement. Two years after his last film "Surongo", Nisho returns with a striking look in the much-awaited Eid release.
The 1-minute 7-second teaser, released today, offers glimpses of Nisho in three distinct personas, captivating fans from the get-go.
Nisho's character in "Daagi", named Nishan, undergoes a striking transformation throughout the teaser. In one scene, he sports an aged look with long, unkempt hair, embodying a more weathered version of himself.
In contrast, another glimpse shows him younger and sharper, with a natural, shorter hairstyle. The final reveal, however, is the most intense—Nishan, now a prisoner, is dressed in prison garb, branded as inmate number 786, exuding a hardened, gritty persona that hints at the depth and darkness of his journey in this crime drama.

Alongside Nisho, the teaser also features glimpses of Tama Mirza, Sunerah Binte Kamal, and Shahiduzzaman Selim, giving fans a sneak peek of the film's ensemble cast.
Directed by Shihab Shaheen, "Daagi" marks his second feature film. In response to the overwhelming reaction to the teaser, the director expressed his joy, saying, "There are many surprises waiting to unfold. Those familiar with my work or who have set expectations for 'Daagi' won't be disappointed."
Shahriar Shakil, managing director of SVF Alpha I Entertainment Ltd, the production company behind "Daagi", shared, "With the teaser, audiences got their first glimpse of the film, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. However, our true success will be when viewers leave the theatre satisfied."

Fans have long been vocal about their eagerness for more "Daagi" promotions. Addressing this, Shakil added, "We're neither rushing nor delaying the promotions. Everything is unfolding as planned. From the beginning, we've mapped out when and how each promotional phase will roll out. 'Daagi' is a gripping family film, and we're confident it will captivate audiences this Eid."
Redoan Rony, head of Chorki, an OTT platform co-producing the film, shared her excitement, "Afran Nisho is a crowd favourite, and fans were eagerly waiting for his return. While the teaser doesn't reveal much of the plot, we're confident that as more is unveiled, audiences will be even more intrigued by what's to come."
Afran Nisho, whose return to the big screen has been met with great fanfare, commented on the excitement surrounding the teaser, stating, "The teaser only hints at what's to come. Every frame in 'Daagi' carries deep meaning. It's a story that will leave the audience questioning fate and consequences."

Tama Mirza, who stars alongside Nisho, added, "Even before the teaser, I could feel the audience's eagerness for 'Daagi.' Now that it's out, their love is truly overwhelming. This is the second time Nisho bhai and I are working together, and I'm hopeful the film will meet audience expectations."
The film also stars Shahiduzzaman Selim, Gazi Rakayet, and Mili Basher in key roles. According to director Shaheen, "Daagi" tells a story of redemption and penance, a narrative rarely explored in Bangladeshi cinema. With its gripping plot, star-studded cast, and growing anticipation, "Daagi" is set to make waves when it releases this Eid.
