Afran Nisho turns ruthless in action-packed ‘AKA’ trailer
The much-anticipated trailer of hoichoi's upcoming original series "AKA" was released yesterday at a special event in Dhaka, followed by its online launch across the platform's official social media handles. The teaser has already generated widespread buzz among fans.
Opening with the haunting line, "The year was 1998–99. One by one, Aka hunted down the criminals. And then, without a trace, he disappeared," the two-minute trailer pulls viewers into a shadowy world of vengeance and intrigue.

Directed by Vicky Zahed, "AKA" is set to premiere exclusively on hoichoi on September 4. Speaking about the project, the director said, "I've made thrillers before, but this time I wanted to experiment with both structure and storytelling. The true test of that experiment will be revealed when audiences finally watch 'AKA'."
At the heart of the series is Afran Nisho, making his OTT comeback after nearly three years. Known for his intense performances, Nisho takes on the role of Aka, a character already creating strong anticipation among viewers.

Sharing his thoughts, Nisho said, "I always want to be part of good work and quality productions, no matter the platform. For me, the story is what truly matters. And if Vicky is directing it, then there's nothing more to say. AKA brings all these good elements together. I would like to request the audience to share their feedback once they watch it."
The series also stars Masuma Nabila as Megha, a fearless and resilient woman who refuses to surrender to injustice. Reflecting on her role, Nabila said, "I'm a huge admirer of Vicky bhai's work. He has been doing excellent projects in the psycho-thriller genre. 'AKA' has turned out to be a remarkable project, and I truly hope the audience will enjoy the trailer as well as appreciate our work."

Also present at the launch event was Imtiaz Barshon, who plays Sohel. He shared, "I'm grateful to hoichoi for giving me such wonderful stories back-to-back. Each of these projects has been an experiment in its own way. Vicky Zahed's works always carry a distinct signature and a unique shade. I had a strong desire to be a part of that signature. I'm truly thankful to the director and the entire team."
Completing the ensemble is a stellar cast including Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Azizul Hakim, AK Azad Setu, Shahed Ali, Tazji Hasan, and Syamonty Shoumi, each adding depth and intensity to the narrative.
With suspense, emotion, and a razor-sharp edge, "AKA" promises to be more than just a thriller — it is a journey into the darker corners of the human psyche.
