Woman arrested after gunfire hits Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home

A 35-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after gunfire struck the Beverly Hills residence of pop star Rihanna, according to Los Angeles police.
The suspect, identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, is currently being held with bail set at $10.2 million (£7.6 million). Officers responded to reports of gunfire at the property around 1:15pm local time (21:15 GMT) on Sunday (March 8).


Authorities said the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds from a vehicle using an AR-15-style rifle toward the singer’s home. Rihanna was reportedly inside the house at the time, though no injuries were reported. The motive behind the incident remains unclear.


Investigators recovered several assault rifle casings from the scene, according to law enforcement officials. The suspect’s white Tesla was later located about eight miles away at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping centre, where she was taken into custody.


The suspect is reportedly from Orlando, Florida.


Born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, Rihanna rose to global prominence in the early 2000s with hits such as “Pon de Replay” and “Umbrella”. The nine-time Grammy Award winner recently marked 20 years since the release of her debut album.
