‘Prothom Bangladesh’ returns in new form for Independence Day
A reimagined version of the iconic patriotic song “Prothom Bangladesh” is set to be released on March 26, coinciding with Bangladesh’s Independence Day. The release also marks the debut project of Fireworx, a newly launched music and creative production platform.
Originally performed by Shahnaz Rahmatullah, with lyrics by Moniruzzaman Monir and composition by Aliuddin Ali, “Prothom Bangladesh” remains one of the country’s most cherished patriotic songs, known for its emotional depth and national significance.
For its inaugural project, Fireworx has chosen to reinterpret the song as a tribute to its enduring message of unity, resilience and love for the nation. The initiative aims to introduce the timeless track to a younger audience while preserving the spirit of the original.
The new arrangement features music by Fuad Almuqtadir, with Tajwar Awal serving as executive producer. Adnan Karim and Ashiq Zaman have joined the project as production partners.
The accompanying music video adopts a live-performance format, focusing on raw instrumentation and real-time musical energy. It also symbolically captures a generational transition, with established artists passing the torch to emerging talents shaping the country’s cultural future.
The new version of “Prothom Bangladesh” will premiere globally across digital platforms on March 26.
