Mark Ronson reunites with Greta Gerwig for Netflix’s ‘Narnia’ adaptation

British-American composer Mark Ronson is set to collaborate once again with filmmaker Greta Gerwig, this time for Netflix's highly anticipated adaptation of "The Magician's Nephew", the sixth novel in C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia series. Gerwig, who previously worked with Ronson on the 2023 blockbuster "Barbie", is writing and directing the fantasy adventure, which will serve as a prequel to "The Lion", the Witch and the Wardrobe".

The cast for "Narnia" is shaping up to be star-studded, with Meryl Streep, Daniel Craig, Emma Mackey, and Carey Mulligan expected to join. Streep, who is Ronson's mother-in-law, will also voice the iconic character Aslan. Ronson's work on "Barbie" included co-writing and co-producing several tracks and creating the score with Andrew Wyatt, earning multiple nominations across the Grammys, Golden Globes, and Academy Awards.

Currently, the adaptation is filming in London, with elaborate sets recreating post-war Britain of the 1950s around Bank Station and The Royal Exchange. Fans have already spotted extras and Gerwig herself at the location. Meanwhile, Ronson has also been making headlines for his newly released memoir, "Night People: How to Be a DJ in '90s New York City", which traces his early career and rise in the music industry.
