Kendrick Lamar has made history as the first rapper to have three solo albums simultaneously rank in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart, according to a recent announcement by the US-based entertainment magazine.

Following his Super Bowl halftime performance on February 9, Lamar's albums "GNX", "DAMN", and "good kid", "m.A.A.d city" climbed to the No. 1, No. 9, and No. 10 spots, respectively.

Lamar's Super Bowl performance also set a new viewership record, surpassing Michael Jackson. His show attracted 133.5 million viewers, narrowly overtaking Jackson's 1993 performance, which held the previous record with 133.4 million viewers.

"This marks the first time in the nearly 69-year history of the chart that a rap artist has had at least three albums simultaneously in the Top 10. The Billboard 200 has been published regularly on a weekly basis since March 1956," Billboard stated on its website.

Taylor Swift previously held the record for having at least three albums in the Top 10, as noted on the Billboard 200 chart dated December 9, 2023.

Before her, American trumpeter and pianist Herb Alpert became the first male artist to achieve this milestone on December 24, 1966. Decades later, Prince also accomplished this feat posthumously following his passing in 2016.

Prior to Lamar, Justin Timberlake topped the Billboard 200 after his Super Bowl halftime performance in 2018. His album "Man of the Woods" debuted in the Top 10 that February.
