UPL marks its 49th anniversary with book fair celebration
The University Press Limited (UPL) celebrated its anniversary with readers, writers and well-wishers. The exchange of greetings was held from 4 PM to 8 PM at the UPL central office, located at Green Road in Farmgate area of Dhaka, on December 13 (Friday).
From 1975 to 2024, UPL has stepped into 49 years of responsible journey in building a society that thrives on acquiring knowledge. On this occasion, UPL congratulates all the readers, writers and well-wishers of the country. At the same time, the publishers hope that their journey to publish quality and contemplative books from the gathering of writers and readers will be longer. In order to develop the publishing house, concerned departments of the government were invited.
Among the guests who came to the UPL office to celebrate this occasion was writer A. Qayyum Khan; writer and researcher Khaliquzzaman Elias; Director General of Bengal Foundation, Luva Nahid Chowdhury; Shafi Ahmed; poet Nasrin Jahan; Sabina Faiz Chowdhury; journalist Kamal Ahmed; physician and public health expert Toufiq Joarder; teacher Professor Samina Luthfa; Professor Tanzimuddin Khan; writers Hasan Farooq, Millat Hossain, Syed Mahbubul Alam, Farooq Moinuddin, Dilwar Hasan, Syed Zakir Hossain, and Samia Haque; among many others. The guests visited the ongoing book fair at the UPL headquarters.
To mark the month of victory and the 49th anniversary of UPL, customers are getting up to 70 percent discount on selected books published by UPL at the book fair.
The book fair and this discount offer will run everyday from December 10 to 25 from 10 AM to 7 PM.
