Niloy Alamgir responds to backlash over animal welfare posts

Actor Niloy Alamgir has addressed the backlash he faces on social media for speaking about animal welfare, particularly issues concerning stray dogs.

In a recent Facebook post, the actor said that whenever he raises concerns about dogs, a section of users responds with hostility, often resorting to abusive language. He noted that such reactions reflect a tendency among some individuals to equate aggression with righteousness.

Niloy also pushed back against the perception that he prioritises animals over people. “Without knowing me, many assume I only care about dogs. But I can say I help people more than many others,” he wrote. He added that while people can voice their own struggles, animals cannot, which is why he chooses to speak on their behalf.

The actor further said he generally avoids engaging with abusive comments, as he believes responding would not change their mindset. Instead, he expressed hope that those individuals would develop greater empathy and respect for others.
