Actor Jovan, wife injured in Cox’s Bazar road accident

Actor Farhan Ahmed Jovan and his wife, Sajin Ahmed Nirjona, were injured in a road accident while travelling in Cox’s Bazar. The actor confirmed the incident to Prothom Alo.

According to Jovan, he had intentionally kept his schedule free after Eid to spend time with his family. During a trip to Cox’s Bazar with his wife, the couple was involved in a motorcycle accident on the Marine Drive Road in Himchhari.

“I was riding a scooter, and my wife was sitting behind me,” Jovan said. “We were travelling along the Marine Drive Road when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in front of us suddenly made a U-turn without any signal. When I applied the brakes abruptly, both of us fell onto the road.”

The accident occurred on June 11.

Jovan said both he and his wife sustained injuries to several parts of their bodies. “Our hands and legs were scraped, and we suffered injuries in different places. We returned to Dhaka the following day and are now undergoing regular treatment,” he said.

The actor was returning from the hospital when speaking to the media. He said he continues to undergo regular dressings and has cancelled all scheduled shoots for the time being.

“Following the doctor’s advice, I need to take regular rest. I will think about work once I have fully recovered,” he added.

Reflecting on the incident, Jovan said the accident had taught him an important lesson about road safety.

“Many of us think nothing will happen if we drive a little faster, or that we’re good enough riders to avoid danger. But no one knows when, how, or to whom an accident might happen. A few seconds of carelessness can change a life.”

The actor also urged everyone to remain cautious on the road.

“Wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle and follow traffic rules. Your family and loved ones are waiting for you. It is better to arrive a little late than to risk not arriving safely at all.”
