Why not bail for Fakhrul: HC
High Court today gave interim bail to BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a violence case and issues four rulings regarding his bail.
The bench ordered the government today to explain by two weeks why Fakhrul would not be given regular bail in this case of Paltan police filed on January 6.
In three other separate rulings, the HC sought the government’s reason to why not let Fakhrul bail in three other similar criminal cases of Paltan and Motijheel police.
HC bench of Justice Md Nuruzzaman and Justice Zafar Ahmed came up with the order and rule following four separate bail pleas moved by the BNP leader.
AKM Ehsanur Rahman, a lawyer for Fakhrul, told The Daily Star that his client cannot get release from jail following the HC order since he is arrested in two other criminal cases.
