Sylhet-Dhaka-Chattogram rail link restored after 6hrs

Rail communications of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chattogram were restored today nearly six hours after a local train derailed in Bahubal upazila of Habiganj.
The rail links were restored around 3:20pm, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports quoting Sreemangal Railway Stationmaster Jahangir Alam.
The locomotive of a Sylhet-bound train Kushiara Express from Akhaura of Brahmanbaria veered off the tracks at Rashidpur in the middle of Sreemangal Railway Station and Sayestaganj Railway Station around 9:50am.
The derailment cut off rail links of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chattogram, said Selim Ahmed, stationmaster of Bhanugach Railway Station in Sreemangal.
A Dhaka-bound train “Jayantika Express” from Sylhet got stranded at Sreemangal Railway Station while a Sylhet-bound train “Parabat Express” from Dhaka was waiting at Sayestaganj Railway Station in Habiganj following the derailment, he said.
