3 of a family electrocuted in Barguna

Three of a family including a woman were electrocuted this morning in Barguna's Patharghata upazila.

The deceased were identified as Md Delwar Hossain Hawlader, 65, his nephew Md Rasel Hawlader, 18 and sister-in-law (Rasel's mother) Hamida Begum, 55, reports our correspondent from Patuakhali quoting police.

Police and family members said Delwar came in contact with an electric line while working at his garden at Khastabok village.

Rassel and his mother also electrocuted when they came to save Delwar, said Md. Sahanuddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Patharghata Police Station.

Locals brought them to Patharghata Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead, the OC said.
