2,093 dengue patients hospitalised across country in 24hrs

At least 2093 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in last 24 hours across the country, of which 842 were in Dhaka city and 1251 outside Dhaka.

A total of 43,271 patients were admitted to hospitals this year and 40 died of dengue officially, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Dengue situation in the country took an alarming turn this year with the viral fever reaching all 64 districts.

Experts said climate change effects, intermittent rain, pattern of weather and lack of cleanliness were the main reasons for this increase in dengue cases.

The situation keeps getting worse every day with the authorities fearing further deterioration during Eid holidays.

This year, Bangladesh has seen a record number of dengue cases.
