Narayanganj acid victim dies

A woman, who suffered burn injuries in an acid attack allegedly by her husband four days ago in Narayanganj city, died this evening at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Yasmin Begum, 30, suffered 65 percent burns, breathed her last around 7:00pm at the burnt unit of the hospital, said an officer of DMCH Police Outpost.

Her husband, Salauddin alias Palash, allegedly poured acid on her over a family feud while she was sleeping at her residence at Bhuigar village of Fatullah on March 23.

She was immediately taken to the burn unit of DMCH.

Palash went into hiding soon after the incident. However, police arrested five members of Palash’s family, said Ataharuzzman, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Police Station.
