IOM official found dead in Cox’s Bazar hotel
Police have recovered the body of an official of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN agency focused on migration, from a hotel in Cox’s Bazar district town.
The deceased was identified as Tauhidul Alam, 32, son of Sirajul Islam of Potia upazila in the district. He had been working as senior program assistant of the UN agency.
“Police recovered the body of Tauhidul from Hotel Holiday around 9:30pm on Thursday and sent it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy,” said Md Farid Uddin Khondakar, officer-in-charge of Cox's Bazar Model Police Station.
“Tauhidul might have died of stroke,” the OC said.
Md Alamgir, another IOM official, claimed the death of Tauhidul may not be natural, it’s mysterious.
