‘Humayun Ahmed memorial complex to be built at Nuhash Palli’
Meher Afroz Shaon, wife of late writer Humayun Ahmed, today said they were planning to build a memorial complex in honour of the eminent litterateur at Nuhash Palli in Gazipur.
Shaon told this to journalists while celebrating Humayun Ahmed’s 69th birth anniversary at Nuhash Palli.
“We are discussing the matter with the family members and will begin construction work soon upon their consent,” Shaon said.
Shaon also said that many items used by Humayun Ahmed including his handwritten scripts, manuscripts of books, drinking glass, spectacles will be displayed at the memorial complex for the visitors.
One of the most popular authors in Bangla literature, Humayun Ahmed was born on November 13, 1948, in Kutubpur village under Kendua upazila of Netrokona.
He passed away on July 19, 2012, at a hospital in the US. He was suffering from cancer.
