In the corrected circular, the ministry approved the teacher for a 21-day leave from June 1 to go on pilgrimage in India that the professor applied for.
Earlier on Monday, the ministry issued a circular that approved Arun 50-day leave from July 25 to September 12 citing performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia as the reason for leave.
This mistake made by the education ministry had been making the rounds on social media for the last few days with many taunting the professor about his religion.
Many called the teacher over the phone asking whether he had converted to Islam.
Prof Arun expressed his happiness and gratitude to the ministry authorities for issuing a correction of the circular.
