Fix damaged roads in 24hrs: Quader

With only a few days left for Eid-ul-Azha, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today instructed the engineers of the Roads and Highways Division to fix damaged roads within 24 hours.

The possibility of rains and bad weather cannot be dismissed but the roads and highways need to be repaired and should be in good condition so that Eid holidaymakers can make the journey home smoothly, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports quoting the minister.

There can be no excuses, the minister warned saying that the roads must be repaired between today and tomorrow.

Obaidul came up with the remarks when he was meeting the executive engineers of the Roads and Highways Division of Khulna at the Jessore Circuit House.

The minister also said the roads should be repaired at night and not in the morning.
