Doctor, nurse die of ‘food poisoning’ in Sirajganj

A physician and a nurse of a local hospital died of “food poisoning” in Sirajganj last night.

The deceased were identified as Dr Moniruzzaman, 45, and Jobaida Khatun, 30, of Kazipur Upazila Health Complex, our Pabna correspondent reports.

They had dinner at the place of Alamgir Hossain, an office clerk of the hospital, said Dr Manjur Rahman, civil surgeon of Sirajganj.

Soon after dinner, the trio fell sick and were rushed to Bogra Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where Nurse Jobaida died around 9:00pm. Dr Monir died around half-an-hour later.

Alamgir was undergoing treatment in the hospital, the civil surgeon added.
