Tk 40 per kg rice is tolerable for all: Muhith

Tk 40 per kilogramme of rice is tolerable for the people, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said today.

“It will also be acceptable for producers as we have to consider for their interest,” he said at a programme speaking at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Dispelling any possibility of shortage of food, the minister said, “This year’s crisis is temporary and the food ministry has already resolved the crisis to a great extent.”

He said the government has reserve of 12 lakh ton of food grains. “It is enough for us.”
