HC questions legality of 39th BCS test

The High Court today questioned the legality of the preliminary tests of 39th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) (special), which will be recruiting doctors.

The bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal came up with rule after 23 candidates challenged some mistakes on the question paper.

The bench ordered the exam controller to produce the answer sheets of 23 candidates, who failed the test held on August 3, and their question papers in four weeks.

The petitioners sought cancellation of 39th BCS (special) preliminary examination and prayed to the High Court to stay the viva-voce held from October 10 to 26.

Advocate Md Eunus Ali Akond, the petitioners’ counsel told The Daily Star there were seven mistakes in the question paper.

Also, some non-MBBS candidates were allowed to appear in the exam, he added.
