Four passengers, including a child and her mother, who landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Spain, Italy and Singapore, have been sent to hospital, airport sources have said. Three of them, except the mother, were hospitalised with high fever

"Two passengers who came from Spain and Italy this morning, were sent to hospital for check-up as they had high temperature," Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan told The Daily Star.

When asked about the two Bangladeshis infected with coronavirus, who returned from Italy, he said, "We have no information on when they returned and by which airline. We are trying to find out as other passengers, crew, and pilots of that flight need check-ups too."

Later, a two-year-old child and her mother, who landed at the airport this evening from Singapore, were sent to the hospital as the child was suffering from high temperature, Ishrak Shariar Angel, a doctor at the airport told The Daily Star.

Two men and a woman -- aged between 20 and 35 -- tested positive for the virus on Saturday. Two of them are from a family.

They are now undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital. Three more Bangladeshis who came in contact with them have been quarantined -- two in a hospital and one at home.
