Youth shot dead in Dhaka

A youth was gunned down at Jurain in Dhaka early today.
Victim Mohammad Ibrahim, 23, son of Md Abdul Khaleq, was a worker of a local shop.
Police officials said miscreants numbering four to five swooped on Ibrahim at Nabinbagh Chairman in Jurain in between 1:00am and 1:30am.
The gangsters fired gunshots targeting Ibrahim and fled from the scene, the sources said.
On information, his brothers Anwar and Harunur-Rashid, who also work with him at the same shop, went to the spot and whisked him off to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared Ibrahim dead around 2:00am, said Alamgir Hossain, a sub-inspector of Kadomtoli Police Station.
Reasons behind the killing could not be known immediately, the SI added.
The body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
