4 caught red handed for HSC question leak, jailed

Four people including three teachers were caught red handed today and jailed for leaking HSC question papers in Dhaka and Patuakhali.

Sifat Jasmine, a Biology teacher of a college in Dhaka, and her associate Mehedy Hassan, a student of Tejgaon College, were caught red handed from the capital's Lalmatia in the morning.

They were providing solution to questions over mobile phone during the ongoing Biology examination, Jamal Uddin Mir, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, told The Daily Star.

After interrogation, a mobile court led by Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain sentenced Sifat to two years’ imprisonment and Mehedy to one month, the OC said.  

The mobile court found evidence that they got the leaked question paper from a Facebook page ‘RJ Rahat’.

In Patuakhali, Khalilur Rahman, a lecturer of accounting of Akkel Ali College, and Shafiqul Islam, lecturer of computer science of Hazi Mokhter Ali Mridha college, were held.

They took photos of today’s Accounting question paper, our local correspondent reports quoting Khondaker Mostafijur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Patuakhali Police Station.

A mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Anu Das sentenced them each for two years jail while they were preparing the answers.

The mobile court also fined Shafiqul Islam with Tk 10,000, the OC added.
