SCBA fines restaurant for keeping rotten meat
The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) today fined Tk two lakh to a restaurant at its premises for preserving meat which was rotten and giving off putrid smell in its freezer.
The canteen and environment sub-committee of the SCBA also shut down the restaurant named Olympia Restaurant which was set up on the second floor of its (SCBA) old building.
SCBA President Advocate AM Aminuddin told The Daily Star that the restaurant will remain closed until the executive committee of the SCBA takes a decision on this issue.
He said the executive committee of the SCBA will hold a meeting on Sunday to take a decision.
The SCBA president could not elaborate the name and particulars of the owner of the restaurant.
The SC lawyers expressed anger over the incident of preserving rotten meat in the freezer of the restaurant at the SCBA premises.
