DMP issues traffic guidelines for National Mourning Day

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued guidelines for vehicular movement in the capital ahead of the National Mourning Day to be observed tomorrow.

The nation will observe the National Mourning Day tomorrow with due respect on the occasion of the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

President, prime minister, ministers and people from all walks of life will pay homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing floral wreaths at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi-32 in the city.

In this regard, traffic movement will be curtailed around Dhanmondi-32 from early morning tomorrow, according to a DMP press release.

According to the guideline, buses going to Russel Square from Rainbow FDC will take the left turn at Sonargaon crossing and will reach the destination through Bangla Motor-Shahbagh route.

The vehicles bound for Russel Square-Ajimpur from Gabtoli will be diverted towards Dhanmondi-27 through Manik Mia Avenue and will reach their destination via Sankar-Jhigatola-Science Lab while the vehicles moving towards New Market will be diverted from Dhanmondi-2 and use Jhigatola-Sankar route instead.

President Guard Regiment (PGR), Special Security Force (SSF), Chief of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence (BFSCD), Inspector General of Police (IGP), parliamentary secretaries and flag-bearing vehicles will park on road no. 11 (Northern and Western Part) situated on the north side of bridge no. 32.

General people and political leaders including the members of the parliament will park their vehicles on the Southern East and Southern West side of Bridge No. 32.

Vehicles of the law enforcement forces will be parked on the North side of Ahsania Mission.
